Geothermal Energy
What is Geothermal Energy?
Geothermal energy is energy stored within the earth. This clean and renewable energy can provide a reliable source of heat for your home (even during the coldest Canadian winters). In the summer months that same system can cool your home by removing excess heat and returning it back into the ground. When heating is required the earth is the thermal energy source. A few months later when cooling may be required we can use the earth as a heat sink to absorb excess thermal energy to keep the house cool.
This dual capability is why we refer to our systems as geothermal heating and cooling systems.
Renewable energy is abundant and yet very much under utilized. Geothermal energy is available everywhere and there is more than enough of it beneath your property to reliably heat your house throughout the coldest winter and easily cool it in the summer months. Each geothermal heat pump eliminates the need for a furnace and as a bonus it also means you don’t need an AC unit outside in your backyard.
Once you have a basic understanding of what geothermal energy is, the next question might become why use it in your home? There are some very good reasons, including the benefits of creating an on-going reduction in the operating costs of heating your home and the on-going reduction of carbon emissions from your home. We tell you with confidence that you do not need to burn natural gas or propane to heat your home. The renewable energy available to you from under your own land can do that job. Please know this – when building your new home you can be confident that no matter how big or how small your home will be you can use geothermal as your heating and cooling system to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
